The Centre Génie Industriel (Industrial Engineering Center) is developing an expertise that is internationally recognized in the application of artificial intelligence methods to the world of industrial engineering.
THE SPECIFICS OF THE CENTRE
The Centre Génie Industriel (CGI) is one of the three training and research centers of IMT Mines Albi, directed by Professor Matthieu Lauras. Created in 1996, the CGI proposes an approach based on the representation, modeling, analysis and knowledge capitalization of organizations.
The specificity of the CGI is to combine a range of scientific skills that are rarely brought together, at the border between Industrial Engineering and Artificial Intelligence:
The CGI is at the crossroads between Industrial Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.
The Centre Génie Industriel of IMT Mines Albi strongly correlates its work to the business world and provides firms with highly mature and operational solutions. With such expertise, the problems dealt with may be found in services (transport, maintenance, energy renovation, IT services companies, etc.) or in organizations (humanitarian crises, home hospitalization, etc.), and methods and approaches developed in the manufacturing sector are partly transposable to them.
These processes are often part of collaborative dynamics (multi-partner, multi-site, distributed knowledge...), constantly changing environments (permanent instability, high uncertainty, risks, increasing diversity and complexity...), and fundamentally rely upon new information and communication technologies.
